Riderwood retirement community  and Prince George’s Community College have partnered to present Seasoned Adults Growing Educationally (SAGE), a continuing education program geared toward adults 60-plus. Fifty courses are being offered this semester as part of this program.

Montgomery County’s Office of Human Rights Co-Sponsors Civil Rights Historic Bus Tour

The Montgomery County Office of Human Rights, in collaboration with Montgomery County Public Libraries, the African American Employees Association, the Lincoln Park Historical Foundation and the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, is again this year hosting a civil rights historic bus tour that retraces the steps of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and other civil rights heroes.  The tour will travel to Greensboro, NC; Atlanta, GA; Birmingham, Montgomery, Selma, and Tuskegee, AL; Cincinnati, OH and Memphis, TN.  The bus tour leaves Rockville on April 2 and returns on April 7.

Residents are invited to a ceremony to mark the start of construction for the Olney Library renovation project on Sunday, February 26 at 1 p.m. at 3500 Olney-Laytonsville Rd.  The event will take place rain or shine.  Montgomery County Public Libraries Director Parker Hamilton and Department of General Services Director David Dise will greet attendees and offer brief remarks.
