1 Arrested, 1 In Custody After Shooting At Rockville Metro | News
ROCKVILLE, Md. (AP/WUSA) - Two teenagers were injured when shots were fired outside the Rockville Metro Station on Friday. A 16-year-old male and and 18-year-old female were shot and wounded, and police have arrested one suspect and have a second in custody.
Metro spokesman Dan Stessel says the shooting was reported just after 2:30 p.m. outside the station, but did not affect service on the Red Line. Police say the first suspect was in custody eight minutes after the call was received.
The male suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to a local hospital. The female was grazed by a bullet and crawled away from the scene. She was found in the pedestrian tunnel of the Metro Station. Both victims suffered non-life threatening injuries, according to the fire spokesperson.
Police say a weapon was recovered. Police believe the injured male victim and suspects may know each other. The female victim has no connection to an ongoing dispute between the suspect and the male victim.
Neither the arrested suspect nor the one in custody have been identified by name.
The circumstances of the shooting are being investigated.
