Rockville to vote on new location for Confederate statue
News

ROCKVILLE, Md. (WUSA9) -- You only have a few days left to vote on where a statue of a Confederate soldier can call it's new home.

It was July, when the statue made headlines about it's placement near the Red Brick Courthouse in Rockville.

Montgomery County Executive Ike Leggett decided it should be removed from county property. Now, the county government is allowing residents to weigh in on where it should reside.

Five locations have been proposed:

Beall-Dawson Historical Park
Calithea Farm Special Park
Darnestown Square Heritage Park
Jesup Blair Local Park
Edgehill Farm

They are asking residents to vote by Wednesday, Sept. 9th by emailing county.council@montgomerycountymd.gov.
